Today, November 19, in the small hall of the Executive Body of State Authority of Khatlon Region, Chairman of Khatlon Region Davlatali Said held a meeting with the heads of a number of manufacturing enterprises of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Chairman of the region welcomed the guests’ visit to Khatlon Region and noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the first partners of Tajikistan in the history of the country’s independence, and Iranian companies are actively participating in important projects of Tajikistan in Khatlon Region.
During more than 30 years of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, about 200 important documents on cooperation have been signed.
The head of the region Davlatali Said said about the possibilities of Khatlon Region that agriculture is considered one of the priority and leading areas, and every year fresh agricultural products and goods, including cotton, fruits, vegetables, cereals.
During the meeting, issues of industrial development, expansion of multilateral cooperation with foreign companies, export of agricultural products and creation of small and large enterprises were discussed.
It was said that the production potential of the Khatlon region in the field of agricultural products, such as horticulture and vegetable growing, occupies a prominent place in the country, dozens of products are exported to foreign countries along with domestic markets.
Representative of the Iranian holding “Almos-Nehru” Mahdi Asadollahpur noted that the purpose of the meeting of the heads of Iranian companies with the leadership of the Khatlon region is the construction of a plant for drying fruits and making juices, which will produce 7 types of products at the first stage.
– We are interested in processing high-quality fruits, including apples, and the climate of Tajikistan provides the basis for the creation of large manufacturing enterprises in order to increase the production of this type of product. Therefore, we decided to build such an enterprise in the Khatlon region and employ more than 500 local women, – added Mahdi Asadollahpur.
The head of the region supported the guests’ conversation and noted that there are a lot of garden areas in the region and every year there is a need for their full extraction and processing.
It should be said that in the Khatlon region there are more than 45 thousand hectares of garden land. Farmers, using their experience and available opportunities, annually increase the area of gardens.
During the meeting, the parties simultaneously exchanged views on cooperation in the field of industry, non-ferrous metallurgy and agriculture. This was reported by the press service of the chairman of the Khatlon region.
